Restylane with Lidocaine: Aging Skin’s Best Friend

Restylane is a range of injectable dermal fillers made with stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar in the body that delivers nourishment to the skin. By using Restylane products, the skin gets well hydrated which users will find makes their skin look younger, smoother and more radiant than before.

Restylane is a product that is made by Q-Med, and it was the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States. Since then it has been used by millions of people.

What is Lidocaine?

Lidocaine is a mild local anesthetic that is used by physicians. Lidocaine is very mild and is used to treat minor skin discomfort. Lidocaine temporarily blocks the pathway of pain signals to the brain from the nerve. It does this by preventing sodium from entering the site of pain, this prevents an electric signal from building up and passing along the nerve fibers to the brain.

Restylane uses a small percentage of Lidocaine in its products to temporarily numb the treatment area so that the procedure of injecting the dermal filler in the patient’s skin goes smoothly and without any discomfort for the patient. There are also some doses of Restylane vital with lidocaine that can be purchased from retail stores.

The Restylane range of Products

The Restylane range of products has 4 main treatments. These treatments are Restylane, Restylane-L, Restylane Silk and Restylane Lyft with Lidocaine. Restylane is made using NASHA technology which forms different particle sizes for each Restylane product that allows individual treatments for each type of cosmetic problem.

Restylane and Restylane-L are made for dip to mid-deep subdermal plantation. Restylane and Restylane-L can also be used for submucosal implantation in the lip to be used as a lip filler.

Restylane Lyft with Lidocaine is intended for implantation into the deep dermis to superficial subcutis. Restylane Lyft with Lidocaine can also be used to contour the mid-face and for cheek augmentation. Because this filler is implanted in a deeper layer of the skin, Restylane Lyft with Lidocaine has a higher percentage of lidocaine in it so that patients are numbed around the target area so that there is minimal discomfort during the procedure.

Restylane Silk is used for submucosal implantation for the lips and dermal implantation to correct perioral rhytids.

All Restylane products are intended for adults over the age of 21.
